Honeymoon Cruise

"John and I flew from Salt Lake to Los Angeles and took a charter bus to the sea port where our cruise ship was docked. As soon as we saw the ship we got really excited! It was bigger than any boat I had ever seen!"

"After we were checked in and our luggage was taken on board, we did some exploring. They had souvenir shops, a large buffet, a pool, and dozens of other things to keep people entertained. It was like a luxurious floating hotel! We ate lunch at the buffet and walked around the deck of the ship while we listened to the live band play their music. The atmosphere of it all was just amazing."

"They had all the passengers practice an emergency response drill, so we had to grab our life jackets and meet at a specific place on the deck. Once it was over, they pulled away from the sea port and we were sailing away on the ocean at sunset. The view was incredible!"

"Throughout the evening we kept asking ourselves, 'Is this really happening? We're married, we're on a cruise ship, on our honeymoon... how cool is that?' 

"In the morning our cruise ship docked in San Diego and we took a cab from the sea port to the San Diego Temple. It was absolutely gorgeous!" 

"John and I went through an endowment session and then spent some time in the Celestial Room. The ceiling stretched high above our heads and was illuminated by the sunlight that was shining though the windows. There was even a beautiful staircase that led to a balcony where you could sit and ponder or pray. Then as we walked through the halls we found an atrium in the center of a big room where a garden was growing behind glass walls. It was really pretty. We had extra time, so we asked if we could do some sealings, and they let us do a few names in the same room that Scott and Jana were married. It was a really neat experience. When we were finished, we went outside and took a few pictures while we waited for our cab."

"I love the weather in California!"

"When we got back to our ship, we noticed a huge boat with giant sails that was docked next to ours, so we had to get a picture."

"That evening they had a swing dancing class in the Boleros Lounge, so John and I got into it and had a lot of fun. Then we played some shuffle board out on the deck before we tried out the salsa dancing class. I had so much fun dancing with John! It was fun learning some easy steps that we can do together."

"The next day our cruise ship took us to Catalina Island off the coast of California. The water was too shallow for the cruise ship to dock, so we had to take a ferry boat to the port."

"We paid for a tour bus to take us all around the island, and our guide told us about the many historical events that happened there. Mostly everyone that lives on the island drives a golf cart instead of a car, which looked like a lot of fun. I loved it!"

"When the tour was over we walked down to the beach."

"There wasn't much sand, just a lot of big rocks to sit on, but it was very relaxing just to sit back and listen to the waves crash against the shore. Our cruise ship was off in the distance and the view of the ocean was perfect."

"Our feet were pretty tired when we got back to the ship, so we decided to take a nap by the pool. The band was playing tropical island music, we were stretched out on 2 lawn chairs in our bathing suits and sunglasses, and it felt like we were living the life!"
"Our final port was Ensenada, Mexico. A tour guide was waiting for us at the dock, and we took a bus to La Bufadora. While we were waiting for the bus, our guide pointed out a huge Mexican flag behind us that was the 2nd largest in Mexico. It weighed 500 pounds!"

"The trip to La Bufadora took about an hour, but when we got there it was neat to walk down the market street and see all the souvenir shops along the way. La Bufadora was a big blow hole that would shoot water from the rising ocean tide. It was like Old Faithful in Yellowstone."

"When we got to the market, John did some good bargaining and we ended up with a lot of neat souvenirs."

"We made it back to Los Angeles the next day and had to wait for them to announce our ticket color before we could get off the ship, so we played shuffle board while we waited..."

"And waited... and waited... and waited... and waited"

"Not that we were anxious for our honeymoon to be over. In fact we wished we could have stayed another week! It was so much fun having adventures and experiencing life TOGETHER!"
